Player housing, a new feature introduced in the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Midnight, began its early access phase on the 4th.

Available to those who have pre-purchased the Midnight expansion, this housing early access arrives alongside the 11.2.7 content update for World of Warcraft: The War Within, titled 'Warning'. The update includes the prelude quests for Midnight, the limited-time 'Turbulent Timeways' event, and the return of the 'Brawler’s Guild'.

Upon entering early access, players will complete a tutorial quest to learn the housing system before claiming their first home in either the Horde or Alliance residential districts. Players can obtain a total of two homes, one for each faction per Warband.

The welcome package provided at the start of early access includes hundreds of housing decorations for players to customize their homes. Blizzard is also granting retroactive rewards based on quests and achievements completed in current and previous expansions. Additionally, more items will be obtainable in the future through quests, faction and reputation vendors, dungeons, raids, special events, and professions. Once Midnight officially launches on March 3rd next year, the social housing system will be activated, allowing players to participate in neighborhood gatherings.
