NEXON released the Season 9 'DRAGON RISING' update for THE FINALS on the 11th. This season features a new theme that blends ancient Chinese architectural styles with modern urban aesthetics, highlighted by the addition of the massive new arena, 'Pangwai City.' The design, which features a mix of palaces, temples, complex cityscapes, and skyscrapers, allows for clear zone distinction, making it easier for players to navigate during combat.

Alongside this update, an 8v8 asymmetrical combat mode called 'Point Break' has been introduced. In this mode, the attacking team must move across the map to destroy three objectives in sequence, while the defending team works to protect them. It is the largest-scale mode released to date, allowing 16 players to engage in large-scale cooperation and expanded strategic play.

In terms of systems, the destruction effects have been refined to make collision reactions more realistic when structures collapse. These effects are applied first to the new 'Pangwai City' arena and the existing 'Monaco' arena. Season progression is now managed through 'World Tour Points' for better clarity, and the 'Sponsor Track' has been revamped to allow players to freely choose their preferred sponsors, alongside a restructuring of competitive and rank rewards.

Meanwhile, the Season 9 Battle Pass includes a variety of cosmetic items reflecting Chinese symbols and legends, such as emotes based on martial arts movements, masks and qipao-style outfits inspired by mythological figures, and dragon-head weapon skins.
