Lightcore Games kicked off pre-registration in South Korea on the 21st for their upcoming mobile idle RPG, 'Song of the Nameless: Pixel Idle RPG'. Slated for a release in early February on Google Play and the Apple App Store, the title aims to reimagine the golden age of RPGs for the modern era.

The game draws its spiritual blueprint from the classic pixel RPGs that dominated the 90s and early 2000s. Rather than merely cloning the past, the developers have integrated an idle system tailored for the modern player's lifestyle, striking a balance between retro pixel charm and accessible gameplay.

The soundtrack features a heavy-hitting lineup of Japanese game music legends. Motoi Sakuraba, known for his work on the 'Tales' series and 'Dark Souls', alongside 'Langrisser' veteran Noriyuki Iwadare, have composed the BGM and exclusive tracks. These will also be released as a standalone OST via the local distributor, Sound Republica.

Visually, the game adopts a dual-layered approach. Character menus showcase high-resolution illustrations to capture detailed expressions, while the actual combat and field exploration utilize pixel art to evoke retro nostalgia and satisfying impact.

The system design is focused on reducing player fatigue. By implementing a shared level and equipment system, the developers have removed repetitive grinding, while idle resource production supports efficient progression. Beyond combat, the game includes side activities like farming, mining, and puzzles to ensure content variety.

For the Korean market, localization was a priority, featuring a stellar cast of renowned voice actors such as Kim Young-sun and Yeo Min-jeong. As a special benefit for Korean players, they are offering a limited-edition Hanbok costume, an SSR-grade hero 'Tyr', and a generous amount of gacha currency.

The game has already proven its worth in Japan under the title 'Poem of the Nameless', where it reached #1 on the App Store's free game charts. Having successfully collaborated with the anime 'Shurato', the title has effectively verified the market potential for pixel-art games.
