Riot Games officially rolled out the first season update for 2XKO on the 21st.

2XKO is a free-to-play fighting game built upon the foundations of League of Legends (LoL). It brilliantly reimagines the iconic abilities of fan-favourite champions like ▲Ahri, ▲Blitzcrank, and ▲Vi to suit the high-octane pace of the fighting game genre.

The launch of Season 1 marks the beginning of a three-season run scheduled throughout 2026. Players can look forward to a steady stream of content, including five brand-new champions, alongside the seasonal reset of ranks and fresh battle passes.

The new champion 'Caitlyn' excels at keeping foes at bay with her impressive range and tactical trap placement. She brings a versatile kit to the table, featuring 'Rifle Shot' for long-range projectiles and 'Reloaded Shot' for hextech-infused damage. Her ultimate, 'Ace in the Hole', which fires an explosive snare followed by a precision shot, is bound to be the deciding factor in those nail-biting matches.

Beyond the gameplay tweaks, players can dive into new skin lines like ▲Arcade, ▲It's On!, and ▲Heartseeker. The Season 1 Battle Pass also packs a punch with various rewards, including ▲Avatar items, ▲Stickers, and the 'Chroma Squad' skin line.

If you're playing from a PC bang, there's a cheeky incentive for you. By playing as Caitlyn at least once a day at any Riot-affiliated PC bang until February 17th (Tuesday), you'll bag a 2,000-point mobile voucher (limited to three times per account). Furthermore, regardless of your location, playing as Caitlyn nets you a 5,000 won convenience store gift card and an entry to win an Xbox Elite Controller Series 2.

Riot is also doubling down on the fighting game community by supporting tournament organisers to ensure a sustainable scene. In 2026, there will be approximately 20 official Riot Games tournaments, including ▲Frosty Faustings (Jan-Feb) and ▲Genesis X3 (Feb). A portion of the proceeds from the new esports-themed 'Frame Perfect' skin line will be funnelled directly back into the community. In Korea, events like the ▲SOOP Super Tournament and the ▲2XKO Korea Open have already kicked off since last November to a roaring crowd.
