Krafton's PUBG MOBILE released an update on the 12th, introducing the new 'Speed Racing' themed mode. This mode can be enjoyed by selecting the Erangel, Livik, or Miramar maps in the Ranked tab, and is also available in the standard Erangel map. In addition to the new themed mode, this update includes various classic mode improvements and changes to the Season 29 ranking system.

In the Speed Racing themed mode, a 'Spacetime Crossover' phenomenon occurs in specific urban areas, introducing new themed buildings and structures. Interaction features to open and close doors have been added to garage buildings in Erangel, and dynamic rail structures have been applied to some areas including Pochinki, allowing players to slide along the rails. Similar movement mechanics are introduced in other areas such as the Mansion and the Hospital. Additionally, players can earn rewards through 'Racing Challenges' using vehicles and the 'Slingshot Challenge' where players land on specific target points.

In the gameplay system, players select one passive skill from healing, detection, combat, driving, or scouting at the start of a match, and the skill effect strengthens as they level up during play. Players can increase their energy level from C to S through various actions such as combat and movement, and upon reaching each level, they can open 'Spacetime Treasure Vaults' to receive additional rewards. Players who record the highest scores are displayed on billboards throughout the map. S-level treasure vaults provide additional military supplies along with special functions such as checking the playzone location or changing the weather, and some A-level and S-level treasure vaults feature the '8th Anniversary Lucky Spin,' providing opportunities to obtain commercial items.

Along with this, a new 'Card Collection System' is added. Players can collect various card series, such as theme series, commemorative card series by release year, PMGC series, and surprise card series, to achieve progress and receive rewards. Card grades consist of Normal, Rare, Legend, and Ultimate, and as a final reward, players can obtain the 'Glamorous Assault-S1897' upgradable weapon skin. Completing some series unlocks frame effects and display effects, and collection results can be displayed on the social lobby card display stand. Cards can be obtained through various methods such as mission rewards, theme coin exchanges, gifting duplicate cards to friends, card exchanges between players, and common card pack exchanges.

Updates are also applied to the classic mode. When summoning a vehicle with a flare gun, an 'All-Terrain Tracked Vehicle' appears instead of the existing BRDM-2. This vehicle features powerful starting acceleration, obstacle breakthrough capabilities, water movement, and on-the-spot rotation. It is also equipped with a vehicle-mounted machine gun, allowing for passenger seat firing, and internal passengers can lean out to fire as well. A new weapon, the 'M1 Garand,' is also added. The M1 Garand is a semi-automatic rifle characterized by excellent handling and high accuracy, and it also allows for quick melee attacks using the bayonet attached at close range. Various quality-of-life updates such as Erangel starting island improvements, the addition of dusk and overcast weather, minimap function optimization, and sound visualization improvements are also included.

The Season 29 ranking system will begin on March 15th. In this season, tier-based season rewards are upgraded, and upon reaching Challenger 30, players can obtain 'Royal Road' exclusive rewards such as dynamic nicknames, match-start animations, and dynamic icons. Promotion mission requirements have been generally relaxed, and the party matching range has been expanded to provide players with opportunities to challenge higher tiers. In addition, large-scale updates are applied across major content, including Arena ranking matches, expanded weapon combat power rankings, collection system expansion, new Metro Royale chapters, Homeground parking mode, and Craft Ground function improvements.
