NC has announced plans to launch a mobile version of the MMORPG 'Guild Wars Reforged'. Developed by NC's North American studio, ArenaNet, the mobile version is set to debut this summer. It will support cross-play, allowing PC and mobile players to enjoy the game on the same servers.

The mobile version is being co-developed with 2weeks. It will feature a new user interface (UI) and control scheme optimized for mobile environments such as Android and iOS. Existing players who own Guild Wars Reforged and have an ArenaNet account can continue their gameplay on mobile devices without additional purchases. Furthermore, progress is synchronized between PC and mobile, allowing players to share their game status.

ArenaNet Game Director Stephen Clarke-Willson stated, "We have incorporated the deep experience gained while preparing for Steam Deck support into the development of the mobile version," adding, "It is noteworthy that mobile and PC users can play on the same server and that progress is automatically transferred."

Prior to the official launch, NC will conduct a soft launch in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the Philippines. Details regarding the soft launch and official release will be announced at a later date. Since its release on PC and Steam in December 2023, Guild Wars Reforged has consistently introduced new content and quality-of-life updates. The game maintains the identity of the original 2005 Guild Wars while adding modern convenience and compatibility.

Meanwhile, Guild Wars Reforged has released a new update to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the original game. This update adds new dungeons, quests, and heroes. The original Guild Wars, released in 2005, surpassed 9 million cumulative players. Upon the relaunch of Guild Wars Reforged, the number of first-week active players increased by 500%.
