USERJOY revealed The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake, a fantasy strategy RPG, for the first time in Korea on the 27th.

This reimagining of the 1998 original, The Legend of Fancy Realm, is slated for a Steam release later this year. While retaining the original's charm and strategic depth, it boasts a modernised graphical overhaul and revamped systems. The narrative unfolds on 'Pharceon', a fantasy continent inhabited by five distinct races. A schism within the ancient alliance that once saved the world has plunged nations and factions back into the shadow of war. Players step into the boots of Leona, the Second Knight Commander of the Worpsita Republic, as they navigate a maelstrom of conflict and conspiracy, seeking vengeance and truth.

On his journey, Leona encounters companions with their own unique backstories, including Princess Tina of the Empire, the beastkin archer Ho, and the dark elf sword-mage Krater, all of whom will join him in facing their shared destiny. Combat unfolds with the intricate tactical precision characteristic of SRPGs, and a 'Spirit' system, fuelled by attacks and damage taken, allows for the activation of character-specific ultimate abilities. Furthermore, various strategic manoeuvres, such as the 'Chain Kill' system for consecutive enemy eliminations, can turn the tide of battle.

Characters can undergo advanced class specialisation through the 'Shrine of Fate' by meeting specific conditions. Post-specialisation, their appearance transforms, new skills and higher-tier magic are unlocked, and the combat style varies drastically depending on which companions you choose to nurture and how you develop them. The game also incorporates elements of exploration, with equipment and elixirs hidden throughout the battlefields, demanding strategic consideration not only for combat but also for movement and reconnaissance.

The heart of The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake lies in its multi-ending structure. Story progression and conclusions diverge based on player choices throughout the game and whether they opt for specialisation. Players can experience a spectrum of outcomes, from triumphant 'road of the king' happy endings to tragic fates, with each of the player's decisions shaping the destiny of the game world.
