NCSOFT is set to unleash a significant update for its MMORPG, Aion 2, on May 27th. The highlight is the addition of a new sanctuary area, 'Muspel's Holy Grail,' which promises to inject fresh challenges and content into the game. This update isn't just about a new dungeon, though; it also brings new craftable items, tweaks to PvP, and expansions to the character progression systems.

Speaking of dungeons, 'Muspel's Holy Grail' is positioned as the absolute pinnacle of Aion 2's PvE offerings. The lore paints a picture of an ancient temple, long submerged in lava deep within the Muspel volcano, now revealed by seismic shifts. For those brave enough to conquer its depths and defeat the boss monster, 'Kaldrix, the Calamity of the Underworld,' there's the chance to snag new gear like the Lava Heart Weapon (Growth), Lava Heart Gader, and Kaldrix's Brooch. The very first team to clear the dungeon will be rewarded with the 'Pet: Red Dragon.' A minimum item level of 4,500 is required to enter, and thankfully, you can attempt it as many times as you like within the play time limit.

Beyond the new dungeon, the update introduces fresh craftable items, namely the Dragon/Destruction King Weapon and Dragon/Destruction King Gader. These powerful pieces of equipment can only be obtained through inheritance crafting and come with six base Soul Engrave options. Complementing this is the 'Sage's Stone: Authority (Engrave),' which allows for Soul Binding on the Dragon/Destruction King gear. PvP enthusiasts will also see changes in the 'Abyss' battlefield. A new island area, accessible via whirlwinds in the middle layer of the Abyss, will be added, featuring restricted user visibility on the mini-map. Both Abyss boss monsters and the Dimensional Core will see their stats boosted, and new equipment, such as the Guard Captain Weapon/Gader and Elite Guard Captain Weapon, can be acquired through the Abyss shop and inheritance crafting.

Character progression is also getting a significant boost. The cap for stats like Might, Agility, Accuracy, Will, Intellect, and Stamina will be raised to 250. Furthermore, the maximum attainable values for attack and defense increases have been bumped up to 130%. A new 'Wing Enhancement System' will allow players to further empower their wings for additional stat bonuses. To celebrate the launch, NCSOFT is running the 'Flare of Revival' event until the regular maintenance on June 10th. During this period, players can purchase up to 20 'Spirit Stones of Revival (Engrave)' each week from the 'Gentle Breeze Trading Post' using the in-game currency, Kinah.
