Frontier Developments has officially announced 'Planet Zoo 2', a new simulation game. With its Steam page going live and pre-sales commencing, it's surged into the top ranks of Steam's global best-seller charts.

Much like its predecessor, Planet Zoo 2 focuses on the intricate construction and management of a realistic zoo. Players will need to breed and care for a vast array of animals from across the globe, in diverse climates and habitats, while simultaneously attracting visitors and expanding facilities to grow their zoological empire.

Planet Zoo 2 retains the core gameplay loop of the original while introducing several new systems. You can now build separate freshwater and saltwater aquariums, complete with new aquatic life. Aviaries, which can be freely decorated using barriers, roofs, and pillars, will house new avian species such as the Toco Toucan and Harpy Eagle. Furthermore, a dynamic time and weather system has been implemented, alongside five distinct zoo themes. The game also expands beyond mere zoo management with the introduction of a Wildlife Sanctuary system, focusing on ecosystem preservation.

Planet Zoo 2 is set for an official launch on October 13th, 2026. The standard edition will retail for ₩51,500, with the Deluxe Edition, which includes six additional animal species, priced at ₩66,500. The game will support a total of 17 languages, including Korean voice acting.

Elsewhere in the rankings, 'Mina the Hollower', the follow-up from the Shovel Knight developers, has debuted at a respectable 4th place. Early user reviews are currently 'Very Positive'. Street Fighter 6 lands at 6th, buoyed by the recent addition of the new character 'Ingrid'.

In the concurrent players chart, Street Fighter 6 saw a significant boost, reaching 72,977 players, indicating the impact of its update is translating directly into player numbers, not just sales. Limbus Company continues its impressive run, maintaining over 130,000 concurrent players daily.
