SOOP is set to host the 'SOOP Super Tournament 2026', a comprehensive fighting game competition, on the 6th and 7th of this month at the DN Coliseum in Jamsil, Seoul.

The tournament boasts a diverse lineup of fighting games, including Tekken 8, Guilty Gear -Strive-, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, and 2XKO. Following last year's success, the SOOP Super Tournament 2026 continues its legacy as a premier fighting game event in South Korea, having secured global official tour status from each game's developer.

This year's event has been designated as a Master tier tournament within the global Tekken esports circuit, Tekken World Tour 2026 (TWT 2026). Competitors who place will earn points towards qualification for the year-end TWT Finals. Furthermore, the top three finishers will secure a coveted spot in the Tekken 8 category at the Esports World Cup 2026 (EWC 2026) in Paris, France.

For Guilty Gear -Strive-, the tournament has achieved a Gold Plus tier rating in Arc System Works' global tour series, Arc World Tour 2026-2027 (AWT 2026-2027). Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising has been integrated into Cygames' dedicated global official tour, GBVS World Tour 2026, which commenced this year, with this event receiving a 4-star rating. Riot Games' fighting game, 2XKO, will also feature as part of its official competitive series at the Challenger tier.

The first day of the tournament will feature preliminary matches for Tekken 8, Guilty Gear -Strive-, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, and 2XKO. In a single-day blitz, 2XKO will run all its matches, from preliminaries to the grand finals. The second day is dedicated to the TOP 8 showdowns and finals for all titles except 2XKO. All matches are free to spectate, and on-site attendees can enjoy a variety of events alongside the intense gameplay.
