Following the news that Yujiro Hanma is set to join the fray in Tekken 8,we now have the rather surreal sight of Final Fantasy's quintessential heroine, Tifa, stepping into the ring for Street Fighter 6.

Capcom pulled the curtain back during Summer Game Fest 2026 on the 6th, revealing the Year 4 roster for Street Fighter 6. While the announcement of fresh faces like Yasmin, Arjun, and Bosch certainly caught the eye, it was the final moments of the trailer that really stole the show: Tifa arrived, promptly obliterating the Street Fighter 6 logo with her signature Meteor Strike.

This marks the first instance of Tifa appearing in a fighting game outside of the Square Enix stable. Naturally, there is quite a bit of chatter regarding how she will translate her iconic 'Meteor Strike' and 'Limit Break' mechanics into the established rhythm of Street Fighter 6.

The Year 4 content for Street Fighter 6, including Tifa, is slated for a staggered release starting in 2027. Best of luck with the wait.
