Diablo 4 is set to kick off its next chapter, the 14th season titled 'Awakening of Death', on July 1. Following the recent 'Lord of Hatred' expansion, where Mephisto's wrath claimed countless lives, this season shifts the focus to the Realm of Chaos—the very spot where Malthael, the Angel of Death, met his end. It seems death is stirring once more.

Fancy a taster? From the season launch until July 8, you can trial the new 'Spiritborn' class for free. You get the base game and the ability to level your Spiritborn up to 30; should you decide to grab the 'Lord of Hatred' expansion later, your progress carries over perfectly. Starting July 9, this free trial will also be accessible via Battle.net.

There is also fresh chaos to contend with—literally. New 'Realm of Chaos Rifts' are popping up across Sanctuary. Once you take down the World Wanderer, you'll secure a portal leading to the Chamber of Weight of Death. Once inside, it is a race against the clock to keep the ritual circle expanding. On top of that, all unique items now have a chance to drop as Mythic tier, or you can use the Horadric Cube to upgrade your existing gear to that shiny new rank.

For those who prefer a solitary grind, a Solo Self Found (SSF) mode is finally joining the fray. No trading, no parties—just you proving your worth on a dedicated leaderboard. The Tower and leaderboards, previously in beta, are now officially live, offering top-tier players exclusive cosmetic halos and prestige titles to show off their dedication.

In addition, an Overwatch collaboration is hitting the game. You can nab cosmetic items, including a Kiriko pet bundle, from the free Reliquary. Plus, keep an eye out for skins themed after Overwatch heroes, such as Kiriko Spiritborn, Reinhardt Barbarian, and Genji Rogue.
