A classic sci-fi horror masterpiece from 1995, which continues to enjoy popularity for its unique appeal, is now being offered for free on the Epic Games Store.

On the 3rd, Epic Games announced that it is giving away 'I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream,' a classic adventure game based on Harlan Ellison’s novella of the same name. This giveaway will run until the 10th.

The game is set in a bleak future where all of humanity has been wiped out by an artificial intelligence. Players enter a world where a deranged computer named 'AM' has kept only five humans alive, subjecting them to psychological torture and abuse for the past 109 years within virtual reality simulations that exploit their inner fears and flaws. Players must take turns playing as these five survivors, who are trapped in the Earth's core and suffering eternal torment, to overcome the computer's sadistic challenges.

The humans in the game each carry deep psychological scars, ranging from a lonely individual struggling with suicidal impulses to those suffering from physical mutilation, severe phobias, secret sadism, and cynical paranoia. The game focuses on their twisted and hidden pasts, and players will encounter various moral dilemmas and the distinctively unsettling atmosphere characteristic of sci-fi horror in this warped world.
