NetEase Games is bringing the street basketball mobile title NBA Dunk City to the Korean market on August 6.

NBA Dunk City marks the first mobile street basketball game to boast an official NBA license, and pre-registrations are already live in Korea. With the league's blessing, the developer has secured the rights to all 30 teams and over 40 real-life NBA stars. In a twist on the usual arcade fare, the developer has injected AOS-style tactical depth and progression systems, meaning the path taken to develop players and the strategic use of unique character skills will dictate who walks away with the win.

To celebrate the Korean launch, the developer is rolling out a variety of events. Players will be able to control Yuki Kawamura, whose pace and playmaking abilities have been faithfully recreated for the court. Alongside the pros, the developer is introducing an original character named Aira. While Aira is a lethal shooter on the court, the character is surprisingly shy off the court. The voice of Aira is provided by Japanese voice actor Amane Amemiya.

The pre-registration reward campaign remains active right up until the official launch. Depending on the number of sign-ups, the developer will grant players the LaMelo Ball character, with all participants receiving limited-edition avatars of popular stars like Stephen Curry.
