As casting details for the live-action TV series based on Ubisoft's Far Cry franchise continue to emerge, veteran actor Steve Buscemi has been confirmed to join the production.

On the 14th, the casting of Steve Buscemi, known for his roles in films such as Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, was officially announced. This follows the June announcement that actress Lizzy Caplan, who received acclaim for her role as Marlena Diamond in Cloverfield, would also be joining the project.

The Far Cry TV series was officially announced by Ubisoft last November. It is being produced by FX, a subsidiary of Disney, with producers Rob McElhenney and Noah Hawley involved. McElhenney is known for the sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, while Hawley has worked on Alien: Earth. McElhenney will be taking on a dual role as both a producer and an actor for the series.

Set to stream on Disney+, the Far Cry TV series will follow an anthology format similar to the original games, which feature different settings and characters in each installment, with each season showcasing a new cast and plot. Producer Rob McElhenney stated, “The reason I love the Far Cry game series is its anthology structure,” adding, “It is a dream to create an action drama that explores human nature through a complex and chaotic lens while offering something new every year.”
