With a kit that thrives in both PvP and PvE environments, the hero is providing a significant boost to existing offensive compositions while carving out a niche in PvE. Official creators such as 'MovingTV', 'YoonKoongKoongTV', and 'Gaerecter' have weighed in on this, and KookminTree has compiled their insights below.

Seonran: Armed with backline sniping and HP-scaled damage

Seonran’s kit is designed to prioritise the 'rear enemy' line, a strategic choice considering that most primary damage dealers tend to hang back there. The devastation is real, especially with the addition of HP-scaled damage, which makes short work of tanky defensive compositions. Also noteworthy is Seonran’s exclusive buff, 'Superiority'. When an enemy attempts to attack Seonran, if their attack stat is lower than Seonran’s, the damage is essentially nullified, and Seonran only takes 20% of the original hit. To add insult to injury, the target is hit with a debuff that reduces their defence and increases their miss rate.

Furthermore, the ability to strike four targets upon Awakening has made Seonran a go-to choice for Siege Defence. We have already seen the hero cement a spot as a main dealer in the Saturday Siege Defence, 'Frozen Castle'. Reports are also surfacing that Seonran is highly effective for mob-clearing in the 15th stage of Raids.

Gaerecter reviewed an unawakened Seonran on Friday. While the hero has likely been awakened by now, Gaerecter—a player who primarily runs defensive teams—noted that a composition featuring a standard Seonran, 'Landgrid - Seonran - Karl Heron - Dellons - Orca', achieved a 50/50 win rate against Gaerecter’s own defensive setup of 'Landgrid - Aris - Rudy - Clemiss - Aris - Phalanus'. That level of performance from an unawakened hero is telling.

MovingTV: Survival can be tricky in offensive-mirror matches due to the lack of Blessing or Nullification.

MovingTV highlights that Seonran might struggle in mirror matches against other offensive teams, as those compositions are heavily skewed toward high attack stats, making it difficult to fully utilise Seonran’s 'Superiority'. Conversely, against defensive teams, MovingTV praises the hero’s mid-to-late game damage and staying power.

If you are planning to use Seonran immediately, MovingTV recommends reaching 6-transcendence. The 6-transcendence ability starts the match with 3 stacks of 'Ghost Face' and increases critical hit chance by 100%, which is a game-changer. If you are still on the fence, 2-transcendence is a safe stopping point, as it expands the primary skill target range from 3 to 4 enemies.

YoonKoongKoongTV: The 'Assassin' set is the correct choice for Seonran

When discussing equipment, YoonKoongKoongTV notes that the 'Vanguard' set is only viable in Guild Battles if you are certain your Seonran has a higher attack stat than the opponent’s. While Vanguard does offer higher raw attack, the 4-set effect of '20% Effect Accuracy' provides little benefit to Seonran.

The 'Assassin' set, on the other hand, boosts damage via critical hit chance and 15% defence penetration. Because of the crit chance boost, you can focus the main weapon stat on 'All Attack (%)'.
