Gen.G’s relentless march—a staggering 20-match win streak in the LCK and 27 including international events—finally hit a wall at the T1 Home Ground event.

T1 hosted the 'T1 Home Ground' event at the INSPIRE Arena in Jung-gu, Incheon, on the 25th and 27th as part of the 2025 LCK Roadshow. Their first opponent was Gen.G. After falling to Hanwha Life Esports in the 2025 LCK Cup finals, Gen.G had gone undefeated in the LCK regular rounds (18-0) and secured the top LCK seed for the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) by defeating Hanwha Life Esports again. Their dominance continued through the MSI title, where Gen.G bested T1 in both the winners' and grand finals, followed by a clean sweep at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh. Entering the 23rd, Gen.G had amassed 27 consecutive match wins.

Facing Gen.G on their own turf at the INSPIRE Arena was no walk in the park for T1. After being dismantled by Gen.G’s surgical skill combos in the first set, T1 found their rhythm. Lee 'Faker' Sang-hyeok turned the tide in the second set with a spectacular use of Azir’s 'Emperor’s Divide.' T1 kept the momentum in the third, executing a successful top-lane dive early on, followed by Choi 'Doran' Hyeon-joon’s Gragas using 'Explosive Cask' to drag Gen.G’s key champions into a losing position, sealing the series victory.

Having halted the streak, T1 invited Nongshim RedForce to their home court on the 27th. Despite losing the early lead in the first set, Ryu 'Keria' Min-seok’s Poppy utilized 'Keeper’s Verdict' to displace Wukong, sparking a comeback. T1 maintained their composure through a messy second set to secure a 2-0 win. Notably, Lee 'Faker' Sang-hyeok reached a historic milestone during the first set, becoming the first player in LCK history to record 3,500 kills. T1 finished the week 2-0, narrowing the gap with second-place Hanwha Life Esports.

While the streak ended, Gen.G still had a productive week. Having already secured a spot in the LoL World Championship via their MSI win, Gen.G’s victory over Hanwha Life Esports on the 23rd guaranteed them a place in the 2025 LCK playoffs, making them the first team globally to secure their ticket to Worlds.

The 2025 LCK Round 3 is now split into the 'Legend' and 'Rise' groups. In the first week, T1 was the only team in the Legend group to post a 2-0 record, while OK Savings Bank BRION achieved the same in the Rise group.

In their opening match on the 23rd against Dplus KIA, OK Savings Bank BRION dropped the first set but rallied back as Kim 'Croco' Dong-beom controlled the map with Xin Zhao and Trundle to secure a 2-1 comeback. They displayed similar grit against DRX on the 25th, again conceding the first set before clawing their way back to victory.

With two consecutive wins, OK Savings Bank BRION reached 7 total wins. Dplus KIA, BNK FearX, and DRX are currently tied at 1-1 for the week, with 11, 7, and 6 total wins respectively. With only the top three in the Rise group advancing to the play-ins, the battle for position is expected to intensify.

The week was also marked by two impressive pentakills that kept fans on the edge of their seats. During Gen.G’s 2-0 sweep of Hanwha Life Esports on the 23rd, bottom laner Park 'Ruler' Jae-hyuk secured a pentakill. This marked Park's seventh career LCK pentakill, moving Park into sole possession of first place, breaking the tie with Dplus KIA’s Kim 'Aiming' Ha-ram.

On the 26th, Hanwha Life Esports bottom laner Park 'Viper' Do-hyeon added to the tally, securing a pentakill in the second set against kt Rolster with the support of the team. This was the 95th pentakill in LCK history and the 11th this season.
