Cygames has wrapped up the 'Shadowverse Korea Open 2025 Season 1' (SKO 2025 Season 1), the official esports tournament for 'Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond', which was sponsored by the publisher and managed by ZETA Creative.

The tournament concluded with a spectacle of high-level play, where the player known as 'Saga' claimed the title as the inaugural champion of the Korean region for 'Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond', walking away with a prize of 7,000,000 KRW and marking the first-ever back-to-back victory in SKO history.

In the semi-final winners' bracket, 'Saga' and 'Basasak' engaged in a tense struggle, but 'Saga' secured the first spot in the finals with a remarkably stable performance.

During the subsequent losers' bracket semi-final, 'nbvc' put in the hard yards to study 'Vuiris', earning a 2:0 victory to keep the dream alive. However, it was 'Basasak' who ultimately clinched the final ticket to the showdown after a fierce battle.

The final stage saw 'Saga' and 'Basasak' dissecting each other's decks and strategies in a nerve-wracking duel, where 'Saga' maintained superior concentration to claim the ultimate crown.

'Saga' remarked, "I was confident I could win this season. There were tricky moments, but I managed to overcome them to take the victory," adding, "I aim to take first place in the global tournament as well."

Both the winner and the runner-up will advance to the SKO 2025 Grand Finals, scheduled for November, where they will compete for the right to represent Korea at the 'Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2025' in Japan.

The 'Shadowverse Korea Open 2025', boasting a total prize pool of 30,000,000 KRW, serves as the first official domestic tournament for 'Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond'. Season 1 began with qualifiers on August 2nd and concluded on August 23rd, with registrations for Season 2 set to open in early September.
