Warner Bros. took to the official A Minecraft Movie X account on the 10th (local time) to drop a teaser poster for the sequel. Jared Hess is returning to the director’s chair, with the release pencilled in for July 23, 2027. Naturally, they are keeping their cards close to their chest for now, so details on the cast and synopsis remain a mystery.

A Minecraft Movie made quite a splash when it hit cinemas this past April, drawing significant attention globally, particularly across North America. It managed to rake in $157 million (approximately 224.2 billion KRW) within just three days of release, securing third place at the global box office and setting a new record for the strongest opening performance by a game-based film.

The cinematic landscape is currently flooded with adaptations. Mortal Kombat 2 is set to debut next May, and following a reveal at New York Comic Con on the 11th, a third instalment has officially been confirmed. Meanwhile, the master of blockbuster chaos, Michael Bay, is hard at work on a live-action adaptation of the classic racer 'Out Run'.
