The Nexon Foundation announced on the 30th that it is launching 'Borderless Craft – The Wind of Thirty, Connecting Traditions,' an initiative to support the production and exhibition activities of emerging traditional craft artists in celebration of the 30th anniversary of The Kingdom of the Winds.

This project is part of Nexon's cultural support programme, 'Borderless.' It carries a symbolic weight: The Kingdom of the Winds, a title that itself drew inspiration from Korean heritage and has kept its servers running for three decades, is now paying it forward to the next generation of artisans. The Borderless programme is a social contribution effort that provides creators with access to Nexon's game IPs, encouraging them to use the medium as a wellspring of artistic inspiration and ensuring their work reaches a wider audience.

The Nexon Foundation is collaborating with emerging traditional artists to craft works based on The Kingdom of the Winds IP. To facilitate this, they held a selection process for students in the Department of Traditional Arts and Crafts at the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage, specifically targeting those qualified as cultural heritage repair technicians or holders of national intangible heritage skills. Five teams were selected, and their works are scheduled for a public exhibition this September.

Furthermore, a donation of 45,000,000 won was delivered to the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage to assist the artists' creative endeavours. The handover ceremony took place at the former executive residence of the Joseon Savings Bank in Jung-gu, Seoul, with Nexon Foundation Chairman Kim Jung-wook and university President Kang Kyung-hwan in attendance.

This donation was made even more special by the participation of Nexon employees, who joined in the 30th-anniversary celebrations. On the 7th and 8th, the company hosted a 'Buyeo Castle Festival' at their Pangyo headquarters, featuring a themed experience zone and a charity market based on the game's iconic Buyeo Castle. A total of 22,180,000 won, raised through the voluntary efforts of staff, will be funnelled directly into this Borderless project.

Nexon Foundation Chairman Kim Jung-wook remarked, "We wanted to mark the 30th anniversary of The Kingdom of the Winds—a game deeply rooted in Korean tradition—with a meaningful social contribution focused on supporting emerging artists," adding, "We remain committed to helping these creators carry the torch of traditional culture so that their work may resonate with even more people."
