Nexon announced on the 30th that the South Korean team 'Haibu' secured victory in the second cycle of The Finals Grand Major Online Series APAC league. The Top 8 finals for this cycle were broadcast live globally on the 27th. The Grand Major Online Series is the official esports tournament for The Finals, which was reorganized into a global integrated league structure in April. With a total prize pool of $200,000, teams compete across four annual cycles to earn points, which determine the participants for the year-end international tournament, the TGM Grand Final 2026.

The APAC second cycle Top 8 finals featured a total of eight teams, including South Korean teams Haibu, Goyang Mir, and AWF, Chinese teams KingZero, DRG, and 4AM, the Korea-Australia coalition 777rs, and the New Zealand-Australia coalition Altac. In the first round, 777rs effectively utilized dome shields and goo grenades to successfully steal the cashout twice, becoming the first team to advance to the finals.

In the winner's bracket, Chinese teams KingZero and DRG faced off on the Kyoto 1568 map. KingZero secured the second spot in the finals by leveraging the powerful firepower of their Heavy-Light-Light composition. In the subsequent third round, DRG, and in the fourth round, Haibu, respectively joined the final lineup.

The final showdown took place on the Seoul/Monaco map, where 777rs, DRG, KingZero, and Haibu clashed. KingZero, the winners of the previous cycle, once again utilized the Heavy-Light-Light composition to stably secure $44,000 in cash. Haibu also managed to defend their cashout until the end, earning $36,175 and successfully advancing to the second match.

In the second match, Haibu conceded the first cashout to KingZero, but player 'Busle' turned the tide by using the Heavy class's RPG and shotgun to quickly neutralize the opposing Light players. By successfully stealing the cashout just before the match ended, Haibu achieved a dramatic comeback victory to claim the second cycle title.

With this victory, Haibu earned 100 points toward the TGM Grand Final 2026 and $2,000 in prize money. Haibu rose to second place on the leaderboard with a cumulative 130 points, trailing the current leader, KingZero, by 45 points and holding a 5-point lead over third-placed DRG, setting the stage for intense competition in future cycles. Other participating teams were also awarded points and prize money based on their rankings.

Meanwhile, Nexon is accepting registrations for the third cycle of the Grand Major Online Series APAC league. Applications can be submitted via the official tournament organizer FaceIt's website until July 11 at 9:00 AM. Teams must consist of up to four members, including one substitute, and the tournament is open to everyone.
