NC has launched the 'Chapter 1: Land of Sand and Frost' update for its MMORPG Aion 2 on July 1st. The highlight of this update is the addition of a new class, the Brawler. The Brawler utilizes gauntlets as its exclusive weapon, specializing in front-line assaults and rapid-fire chain attacks. By using basic strikes and active skills, the Brawler builds up a 'rage' meter, which, once filled, triggers a 'berserk' state. To celebrate the release of the new class, NC is providing one free character slot to all players.

The character progression system has also been revamped. The level cap has been increased to 50, and the Stigma skill reinforcement limit has been adjusted to level 25. New territories, Morheim and Eltenen, have been added to the Asmodian and Elyos regions, respectively. Along with this, new content such as Sealed Dungeons, Garrison zones, and Monoliths have been introduced to provide growth rewards. New equipment, including Pendants and Hero-grade Amulets and Belts, has also been added. The new Expedition Dungeons 'Corrupted Deva's Castle' and the Transcendence Dungeon 'Abyssal Horn Cave' are accessible from level 50 with a minimum item level of 3,500.

New systems have been introduced to improve convenience in dungeon content. Players can now mount pets while moving inside dungeons. Furthermore, entry tickets for Expedition and Transcendence dungeons have been removed, and the system has been changed to consume 'Od' energy to claim rewards. Party sizes have been increased to five for Expedition and Transcendence, and to 10 for Sanctuary. Changes have also been made to the solo dungeons, Nightmare and Awakening. New bosses have been added to the 4th floor of Nightmare, and clearing specific stages now grants a bulk payout of previous rewards. A 'Destruction' difficulty for the Awakening dungeon has also been added, accessible from item level 4,000.

PvP content has been significantly bolstered with the introduction of 'Surface of Chaos Ereshkigal' and 'Battlefield: Occupation.' The Surface of Chaos Ereshkigal is a zone where item level and combat power are restricted, and bosses and artifacts do not appear. Battlefield: Occupation is a competitive mode where players earn points by capturing three zones under equal conditions. New and returning players are granted a 'Sprout Badge' valid for 30 days, and regular players who team up with them receive 50% of the Od energy consumed by the sprout players as a reward.

Four 'Growth Support' bundles have been added to the shop to help returning players grow quickly. These support bundles consist of 'Exciting First Steps' for gear and dungeon completion benefits, 'New Flight' to help reach 300,000 combat power, 'Explorer of the New Continent' for growth materials, and 'Slow and Steady' for earning currency through repeated missions. Players can purchase and activate these bundles directly from the shop.
