Hound13’s self-published title, Dragon Sword: Awakening, has officially hit the one-week mark. Since day one, it has maintained a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam, earning particular praise from the domestic player base.

Dragon Sword: Awakening is an open-world RPG built around a tag-action system where players form a squad of three from a roster of 19 heroes, swapping them in real-time. You join a mercenary group, complete missions, and traverse the continent of Orbis alongside your trusty Familiar. Notably, the developer has pivoted from its original mobile live-service roots into a traditional premium package experience.

By shifting to a premium model, the developer has stripped away all monetization hurdles, allowing players to earn every hero and piece of gear simply by playing. New characters have been added, and the resource acquisition loops for hero progression have been overhauled. The old-school energy systems and constant server-check requirements are gone, and while some bosses still have respawn timers, many weekly world boss or side quest resets have been shifted to a daily cycle. The PC transition also brings fresh dungeons, the eastern Orbis region, and the removal of raid reward caps.
