Bandai Namco Entertainment Korea has officially launched 'Patapon 1+2 Replay' (hereinafter Patapon Replay) for PS5 and Nintendo Switch on the 10th. The PC version of Patapon Replay is set to follow on the 11th.

Patapon Replay bundles the original 2007 and 2008 titles, Patapon and Patapon 2, with a fresh coat of remastering. It is essentially a rhythm-based command game where you guide those bizarre, adorable eyeball-like creatures known as 'Patapons' by drumming out commands on four sacred drums.

Each Patapon comes with a specific class; you have the 'Hatapon' waving the flag at the center of the troop, the 'Tatepon' shielding allies with heavy gear, or the 'Yumipon' raining arrows down on foes. Tactics shift depending on the composition, so the player must carefully curate a squad for each stage. Acting as the 'God' of these creatures, the player is tasked with leading the grand march of the Patapons toward 'The End of the World'.

The controls remain simple: you tap out rhythms using just four drums—'Pata', 'Pon', 'Don', and 'Chaka'. Beyond keeping the beat, success hinges on tactical unit selection and clever item crafting. Players can gather rare materials from stages and mini-games to strengthen the Patapon army.

To keep the experience modern, the developer added new quality-of-life features including three difficulty settings (Easy, Normal, Hard), timing calibration, and a handy drum command display. It manages to retain the charm of the original while smoothing out the rougher edges.
