Sagat has officially brawled his way into Street Fighter 6, following the buzz generated by July's gameplay trailer. The fighter has vaulted to second place on Steam's global top sellers list, comfortably eclipsing newcomers like Titan Quest 2 and Grounded 2.

Sagat was a headline act in the Street Fighter 6 ‘Year 3’ character pass. Being the first of the four announced combatants to drop, the character has capitalized on the hype built since the previous entry, proving once again why the series staple is a fan favourite. The timing, no doubt, was aided by the momentum from the EVO 2025 fighting game tournament held in Las Vegas last weekend.

In the trailer, Sagat makes full use of that imposing reach to dominate the spacing game. While classics like the Tiger Shot, Tiger Uppercut, and Tiger Knee Crush are all accounted for, the character also introduces a new move dubbed ‘Tiger Nexus’. Players can also encounter the character as a master in World Tour mode to learn new skills, alongside fresh missions and mini-games.

To celebrate the launch, Capcom has released ‘Outfit 4’, a set of summer-themed swimwear. Perhaps more exciting for the long-term fans, a teaser for the second character, C. Viper, has surfaced; the character is slated for an autumn arrival.
