A new title from DDUCK KONG, who also lent their talents as an illustrator for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, has just surfaced on Steam.

DDUCK KONG released the visual novel 'Killing Magical Girl' on Steam this past December 31st. As an active illustrator at Shift Up, they’ve been instrumental in shaping the visual identity of Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, including character designs for Alice, Crown, Shifti, Admi, Sakura, and Liter. This isn't their first solo outing, mind you; they previously launched another visual novel, 'Super Rabbit's Adventure', back in December 2024.

In 'Killing Magical Girl', we find our protagonist, 31-year-old office worker Iris, facing an Earth invasion by giant tuna—yes, you read that right. A mysterious magical girl named Gregory appears, begging Iris to step up and save the world. But don't expect the usual 'champion of justice' tropes here; instead, our hero signs up purely for the paycheck, a refreshingly gritty, real-world twist on the genre.

As Iris, you'll engage with a cast of three magical girls, a demon lord, and various beast-kin characters. Beyond the main narrative, there are bite-sized side stories to uncover and a gallery to satisfy those with a collector's itch. Given the creator’s pedigree, it’s no surprise that the character art is exceptionally polished and detailed.
