The studio explained, "This entire ordeal, initiated by our legal representatives, was as baffling and convoluted for us as it was for everyone else. We wanted to fully grasp the situation and consult with all parties involved before saying anything." They added, "Sandfall Interactive has officially withdrawn the lawsuit filed by our counsel, and the process is now complete."

The drama kicked off on the 6th when the studio's lawyers sent a cease-and-desist letter to the creator of the French comic 'L'Académie Clair-Obscur', released back in January. They claimed the comic was trying to piggyback on the success of the studio's own 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33'. Cartoonist Olivier Gay fired back on X, and while he stood his ground, he initially felt forced to rename the book to avoid a drawn-out, bank-breaking legal battle with a corporate entity.

Once word got out, gamers across the globe wasted no time branding this a classic case of trigger-happy trademark bullying. Thankfully, with the lawsuit now dropped and a resolution reached, 'L'Académie Clair-Obscur' will see the light of day as intended.
