Blizzard's strategic card game, Hearthstone, launched its new expansion, 'Cataclysm', on March 18. This expansion introduces 135 new cards, along with new hero cards and fresh keywords.

The Cataclysm expansion features the new hero card, 'Deathwing, Worldbreaker'. Deathwing, Worldbreaker allows players to choose one of four abilities to trigger their own personal cataclysm. This card also brings back the 'Colossal' keyword, as he leads six lieutenants to invade Azeroth. Colossal minions are massive units that summon one or more additional minions, extending giant appendages like heavy arms or extra heads across the battlefield.

When playing a card with the new 'Herald' keyword, a soldier from the Colossal army is summoned to the battlefield, possessing effects similar to the class-specific Colossal appendages. While Colossal minions typically appear in the late game, the Herald keyword allows players to utilize their power much earlier. Another new keyword, 'Shatter', causes a card to split into two when drawn, placing them at both ends of your hand. These cards can be played individually, but if you play other cards between them so that they touch, they merge into a single, powerful card with doubled effects.

Coinciding with the launch of the Cataclysm expansion, all cards from the previous expansions, 'Into The Emerald Dream' and 'The Lost City of Un'Goro', are available to play for free. This includes Golden versions of these cards. These trial cards are available to everyone for the duration of the Cataclysm expansion.
