Details for 'Melty Blood: Twy Lumina', first teased back at EVO Japan 2026 in May, have finally emerged. With the confirmation of 'Mash'—the poster girl of Fate/Grand Order—joining the fray, fans are already buzzing about a potential narrative crossover with Fate/Grand Order.

Aniplex pulled back the curtain on new information during the 'Fate/Grand Order Fes 2026' event held on August 2. As the latest entry in the fighting game series set within the Tsukihime universe, this title serves as a direct follow-up to 2021's 'Melty Blood: Type Lumina', promising overhauled battle mechanics and a fresh roster of characters.

The initial lineup includes Tohno Shiki, Arcueid Brunestud, Len, and Mash Kyrielight. Given the arrival of the Fate/Grand Order heroine and the addition of a 'Grand Scenario Mode' penned by Type-Moon's own writer Kinoko Nasu, speculation is rife that the story might finally bridge the gap between these two worlds.

The developer also dived into the mechanics. The game will support two distinct modes: 'Act Mode', which lets you pull off special moves with simple button presses and directional inputs, and the traditional 'Dual Mode' for those who prefer classic command inputs. Furthermore, the 'Rapid Mode' has been refined to allow for chain combos via button mashing, while also integrating gauge-based special moves. We were also introduced to 'Gauntlet', a new feature that consumes the Lumina Gauge to unleash a charge move that ignores incoming attacks.

Melty Blood: Twy Lumina is scheduled to launch in early 2027 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch, with official support for Korean subtitles. A playable demo will be available at Tokyo Game Show 2026, running from September 17 to 21.
