Kakao Games has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Grim Entertainment to collaborate on game development and service, leveraging the latter's intellectual property.

Through this partnership, Kakao Games gains the rights to utilize The Grim Entertainment’s roster of comics and webtoons for game development and service. The publisher aims to expand these competitive content IPs into the gaming space, promising a more enriched experience for players.

The Grim Entertainment is a webtoon studio founded by author Park Tae-jun, which holds the rights to popular webtoon IPs such as 'Manager Kim' and 'Lookism'.

Kakao Games CEO Lee Si-woo stated, "By partnering with The Grim Entertainment, which boasts powerful IP and a dedicated fan base, we anticipate delivering fresh joy to our users," adding, "We will pursue a meaningful collaboration to ensure we create games that capture global attention."

The Grim Entertainment CEO Ahn Hyung-soo said, "We are delighted to be working with Kakao Games, which possesses extensive game service know-how," and added, "We will strive to make this another successful case of One Source Multi-Use (OSMU) through the synergy between our IP and their gaming expertise."
