Nexon announced on the 18th that it has rolled out 'The Mortal Thorn,' the 15th episode of Mabinogi Heroes Season 4. This new chapter follows our band of heroes as they trek toward Gorias in search of the third of Erin's four great treasures.

The journey leads to a new raid, 'Golden Tree Hill,' where you will face the boss 'Esras,' the guardian of the third treasure, Aradvar. Esras was once a wolf-kin protector of the forest, but now, alas, they have been corrupted by the malevolent aura of the treasure. Wielding a spear of red thorns, this boss leaves lingering afterimages and keeps you on your toes with shifting attack tempos. Do watch out for the 'Spinning Kick' special move, which manipulates airflow to pull you in; keeping your distance is absolutely critical here.

The update also introduces the 'Rare' upgrade tier for 'Eriu' weapons, along with new level 125 'Eriu Hand Armor' and the 'Mortal Shackles' ring. The hand armor can be upgraded from level 120 gear, and two new Rank 3 prefix enchantments—'Stained' and 'Wandering'—have been added for hand/foot gear and rings. You can snag the necessary materials for these upgrades and crafts directly from the new Esras raid.

To celebrate the update, Nexon is running a slew of growth-support events. First, the 'CHEER UP! Gear Growth Event' runs until July 16. By clearing regional raids, special battles, and general battles (level 30+), you will earn 'CHEER UP! Gear Growth Coupons.' You can spend these in the exchange shop until July 23 to grab goodies like 'Premium Armor Enhancement Runes (Gifted),' 'Clone Avatar Crafting Boxes,' and 'Wadne's Crystal Boxes.'

Furthermore, the 'Hero's Leap' event runs until September 24 to help push characters past level 115. Players can select one character level 115 or higher (until September 10) to participate. By completing missions categorized under Growth, Departure, Town, and Challenge, you can secure essential upgrade materials and items such as 'Spinos's Essence,' 'Exclusive Gear Avatar Selection Boxes,' and 'Wadne Armor Upgrade Stone Selection Boxes.' The rewards have been beefed up compared to last year's inaugural run.
