Unlike the weapon chests, you are tasked with picking just one piece from a dizzying array of options, regardless of the equipment slot. So, which one should you actually commit to? Q. Which piece of Rare armor should Knights and Rangers grab at level 35?
A. For Knights and Rangers, the Ruin Armor is the absolute standout choice.

Reaching level 35 unlocks that elusive Rare Armor Selection Chest. Upon opening it, you are presented with a massive pool of gear. With five slots—helmets (shared by Knight/Ranger, Mage-exclusive), armor (Knight/Ranger, Mage-exclusive), gloves (all classes), boots (all classes), and shields (Knight-exclusive)—and four variations per slot, you have 28 items to choose from. It is a classic case of 'your mileage may vary' depending on your current gear and personal build.

If you are currently rocking a full set of Uncommon gear, we suggest Knights and Rangers prioritize the Ruin Armor. It provides 7 physical defense and 3 accuracy. Compared to the basic Steel Armor handed out during the main quest, this is a clear upgrade of 1 physical defense and 3 accuracy. Given the significant stat jump, it is the most efficient choice for these two classes.

Q. What about Mages? What should they pick at level 35?
A. Mages should lean towards the Shaman's Robe or the Caster's Headband.

Mage choices are a bit more nuanced. Generally, we recommend the Shaman's Robe, which adds 1 INT, 6 physical defense, and 5 MP recovery. That bump in INT is vital, as it naturally increases your accuracy and boosts your magic damage, magic amplification, and overall damage output.

However, if you are still in the early game, struggling with skill management and missing targets, keep an eye on the Caster's Headband. It offers 3 physical defense, 3 accuracy, and 3 MP recovery. Compared to the basic Uncommon hood, it provides an extra 3 accuracy and 1 MP recovery.

That said, thinking long-term, you will eventually want a full Rare set. Since Mages rely heavily on skill-based combat, the INT-heavy gear is ultimately superior to the accuracy-focused Caster gear. It feels like a waste to burn your selection chest on the cheaper Caster's Headband, so aim for the Shaman's Robe for future-proofing.

Q. How about the Rare-grade shields for Knights?
A. We recommend the Shield of Protection.

Shields are exclusive to Knights. Since they focus purely on physical defense and damage reduction, it is usually better to grab the Ruin Armor first for better grinding efficiency. However, if you are looking to bolster your survivability, the Shield of Protection is a solid choice. With 5 physical defense and 2% damage reduction, you will notice a decent dip in incoming damage.
